RTS provides a full complement of logistics support
to range users, operating both an international airport and an ocean terminal to
facilitate transport of materials and personnel supporting test missions.
Transportation to Kwajalein Atoll
Transportation of material and personnel to RTS is via
commercial or military aircraft and Government contract marine vessels.
Current schedules provide:
- Three dedicated military flights weekly - departing
Hickam AFB and returning the same day.
- Four West bound commercial flights departing Honolulu
International Airport weekly.
- Four East bound commercial flights arriving Honolulu
International Airport weekly.
- Government contract container vessels support
RTS
with supplies and equipment from the West Coast and Honolulu.

Services Overview
RTS's marine and aircraft fleets provide
transportation to all RTS installations and Range User sites:
Marine Fleet
RTS marine assets include a variety of landing craft and utility vessels suitable
for intra-atoll and inter-atoll mission support transportation.
Aircraft Fleet
RTS's aircraft fleet includes three fixed-wing aircraft and five helicopters.
These aircraft, normally used for intra-atoll transportation, are available for
mission activities and dedicated mission support. In addition to these assets,
RTS
maintains and operates a large hangar facility suitable for sheltering mission support
aircraft deployed to RTS.
Vehicles, Mobile
equipment and Ground Transportation Services
Vehicles and equipment at RTS include material handling equipment,
construction support equipment, passenger vehicles, trucks, vans and electric carts.
Mobile equipment is available from the Central Motor Pool for support of
RTS
operations and Range User programs.
Scheduled bus service is provided to/from work
locations and as required for group movements on Kwajalein and Roi-Namur islands.
Taxi service is available 0700 - 2000 seven days a week ($1/person-trip) and
personal-use bicycles may be rented on Kwajalein island.
