The Army’s force modernization proponent for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; the Army’s operational integrator for Global Missile Defense:

  • Providing trained and ready Space and Missile Defense forces and capabilities in service to the Warfighter and the Nation (today)
  • Building future Space and Missile Defense forces (tomorrow)
  • Researching, testing, and integrating Space, Missile Defense, cyber, directed energy, & related technologies (day-after-tomorrow)

Close, collaborative relationships with MDA, NAMDC and a multitude of stakeholders – working to improve linkage to ASCCs
 
Engaged with and embedded in HQDA DAMO-AMD – close coordination with HQDA DAMO-CIS
 
Retain organizational linkages to ARCYBER; reach-back capability development and materiel development

Core Tasks

As the Army's force modernization proponent for space, global missile defense, and high altitude; and as the Army's operational integrator for global missile defense, USASMDC/ARSTRAT will focus on three core tasks:

  • Providing trained and ready Space and Missile Defense forces and capabilities in service to the Warfighter and the Nation (today)

  • Building future Space and Missile Defense forces (tomorrow)

  • Researching, testing, and integrating Space, Missile Defense, cyber, directed energy, & related technologies (day-after-tomorrow)

USASMDC/ARSTRAT develops and provides current and future global space, missile defense, and high altitude forces and capabilities to the Army, the joint force, and our interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational Allies and partners to enable mission command, enhance
deterrence and detection of strategic attacks, and protect U.S. vital interests in all domains.

Command Goal
To provide dominant space and missile defense capabilities for the Army and to plan for and integrate those capabilities in support of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCC) missions.
