USASMDC/ARSTRAT Technical Center researches, develops, tests and integrates capabilities for material solutions in tactical space, high-altitude, missile defense, cyberspace, directed energy and other related areas of technology.

Provide critical technologies that meet today's requirements and address future needs enabling Warfighter effectiveness in the areas of Directed Energy, Space, High-Altitude, Cyberspace and Missile Defense Technologies

Plan and execute test and evaluation programs, and perform related analyses: missile defense, high energy laser, hypersonic system, targets and simulations and strategic missiles

Support operational elements: field mature technologies that have value now, nuclear arms control monitoring, homeland security, space surveillance network/space object identification (SSN/SOI)

Mission, Vision & Goal

USASMDC/ARSTRAT conducts space and missile defense operations and provides planning, integration, control and coordination of Army forces and capabilities in support of U.S. Strategic Command missions (strategic deterrence, integrated missile defense, and space operations); serves as the Army force modernization proponent for space, high altitude and global missile defense; serves as the Army operational integrator for global missile defense; and conducts mission-related research and development in support of Army Title 10 responsibilities.
